You might have heard, seen, or read that critics did not like Amazon Prime’s new military thriller hit series The Terminal List. It has been called everything from an “unhinged right-wing revenge fantasy” to a “thoroughly rotten, nonsensical journey into domestic terrorism.” My favourite is its alleged “pandering to red state viewers,” an accusation that is particularly weird because everyone with healthy levels of testosterone seems to enjoy the series regardless of where they live. It was also chastised for being too “grim and dark,” a strange snub from the same pod heathens who cheered on the existential nihilism of The Boys. To quote everyone’s favourite cartoon nihilist, “Your boos mean nothing. I’ve seen what makes you cheer.” (And God almighty, I hope the Lotus Eaters do not ask me to review Cuties).
