PREMIUM: Symposium #17 | The Politics of Aristotle: Part II
In this episode of the symposium, we focus on Aristotle’s discussion of the six main types of constitutions: kingship, tyranny, aristocracy, oligarchy, polity, and democracy. We start with Aristotle’s conception of the tasks of political theory, proceed to a discussion of how constitutions get corrupted and how they can get preserved, and end with his claims about the desirability of a ‘middle group’.
