Kamala’s Fever Dream
In the first century before Christ, the legendary Roman orator and statesman Cicero said that “to be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain forever a child.” I think this is a profoundly true statement. The present is merely the product of everything that has come before; so to be unaware or massively misinformed about the past means that true insights into the present will forever remain elusive. Further, if knowledge of the past is lost, or subverted out of all recognition, then the present becomes a thing afloat, the present becomes a meaningless piece of flotsam adrift in an ocean of nonsense. That very same piece of flotsam can then be re-defined and re-described as anything. Lies gain the veneer of truth. All that is required for the vitally important lessons of the past to be lost is a historically illiterate audience, and an amoral demagogue with the audacity to spout the most enormous falsehoods.
Speaking of lies being given the veneer of truth by an audacious and amoral demagogue, remember when international embarrassment Kamala Harris equated the January 6th mass trespass event with Pearl Harbour and 9/11? Here we can see the above process playing out with crystal clarity.
On the one year anniversary of the 2021 January 6th mass trespass of Capitol Hill, international embarrassment Kamala Harris read out a speech which had been written for her by the evil scumbags who control the Biden administration. That Mrs Harris was prepared to actually go on camera and read aloud the sickening words she had been given is honestly one of the most maddening and despicable things I have ever seen. That she said it with a straight face, even feigning emotion and some sort of indignation, is testament to her utter lack of integrity and willingness to say anything, regardless of truth or reality. To have living demons like Mrs Harris at the pinnacle of political life is equal parts mortifying and incredible.
Firstly, and most prosaically, the comparison between January 6th, 2021, and the 7th of December, 1941, the date of Japan’s giant attack on a portion of the US Pacific fleet at anchor in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, is disgusting on the face of it. It is not possible to read or hear the accounts of the horrors which played out at Pearl Harbour and still contend that it bears any resemblance to January 6th. No one who is honest and remotely reasonable would dream of doing such a thing. It would only be possible if either you had no idea of the events of December 7th, 1941, or, you don’t care. In Kamala’s case, I suspect it’s a bit of both.
I suspect international embarrassment Kamala Harris hasn’t spent much time or energy reading accounts from that morning in 1941. I suspect she hasn’t listened to many of the survivors’ eyewitness testimonies. I suspect she even revels in their loss and trauma, as they were nearly all straight white males. I suspect Harris holds their pain in extremely low regard. She must do. How else can she hear the accounts of trapped and doomed men knocking on the bulkheads of half-sunk ships, or the burn victims whose whitened flesh simply sluffed away from their bones, or men who were blown into tiny chunks; how can she equate that with the trespass of January 6th? The only explanation is that she cares nothing for the truth. She cares nothing for the victims and survivors of Pearl Harbour. She cares nothing for US history. She cares nothing for those among us who see through her sickening narrative. She is happy to look us in the face and gaslight us in the most appalling way possible.
Why dredge up this revolting episode from months ago at all, though? Most people who know a little history—and aren’t Democratic party ultras—would agree that Harris and her speechwriters are deranged monsters. But I just can’t bring myself to forget this particular lie. It keeps coming back to me like a type of waking nightmare; among all the endless lies and gaslighting and hypocrisy and doublespeak, this one keeps repeating on me. The scale and brazenness of the lie is what’s so disturbing about it. It reveals that the Biden administration is prepared to spit in the face of history; that they are prepared to take a hatchet to the memory of their own war dead; that they are proactively trying to pull down civilisation. For be in no doubt, that’s what this is. It is an attempt to stomp on the collective memory of Western civilisation. It is so very disturbing because it presages something far darker. It says that they hate America, everything it stands for, and everything it has ever stood for. It says that they would annihilate it entirely if they could. Like how they narrowly failed to get a bill through the senate which added additional Democratic senators, or how they’ve abandoned the border, or how they gifted the Taliban billions of dollars of equipment, or how they tried to pack the supreme court, or merely intimate the judges themselves. Or how they try to criminalise parents for not wanting their children taught by sex cases, or a budget so insane it would obviously ruin the economy.
When I see Kamala Harris equate January 6th with Pearl Harbour or 9/11, I feel as though I am looking into the very face of evil itself; much like the face of Garland, Booker, Mayorkas, Talib, Schumer, Omar, Nadler, Pressley, Jankowicz, Brown, Lipstadt. These are people who want America to end. These are people who are pathologically committed to grinding everything the West has ever achieved to dust. They are truly enemies.
My reading of history is that they won’t stop. We are still only at the beginning. They will never stop of their own accord. They will need to be stopped. It is a fundamental pillar of the leftist plan of attack to undermine the history and culture of their host societies. It’s a key tactic. How else can they convince people to be happy with no property, eating bugs and drinking soy in a pod? First you must cut them adrift from their history and heritage; first you must convince them that there is nothing of value to be learnt from the lessons of history. Like all iconoclasts through the ages, first they must wreck what has come before, regardless of reason or justice. The first protestants broke statues of saints and smashed the medieval stained glass, the French revolutionaries did the same thing, the Bolsheviks did much the same thing, and Maoist lunatics burned and broke as much of their own physical culture as they could. Today, BLM rioters who pull down statues, or the vermin behind the 1619 Project, or even Bernie-bro style wannabe socialists, they all require that you know next to nothing about history. They all require that you actively remain ignorant of what has come before; it is the only way their lies stand even the faintest chance of being believed.
What is to be done, then? It’s all very well just to point out the nauseating filth that morons like Kamala Harris say, but what can we do about it? In the specific case of international embarrassment Kamala Harris, the voters of California can vote her out, though that seems unlikely, as California repeatedly and endlessly returns politicians to Washington who hate America. Beyond the ballot box, then, and more broadly speaking, what can be done? Is there a positive and constructive vision for moving forward in the face of the left’s pure insanity? I believe there is. For we are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams.
I believe we—all those opposed to the endless attacks on the west's culture and history—could learn a lesson or two from the Catholic leadership of the sixteenth century. They decided that they would not meet the protestant demands halfway. There would be no compromise. They had the clarity of thought to recognise a deadly enemy when they saw one, and the confidence and will to stand up to them. The late great art historian Kenneth Clark tells us that the protestant men of northern Europe had long felt that the veneration of saints and icons was silly, that the cult of the virgin mother was absurd and wrong, that all the pomp and regalia that goes hand in hand with ecclesiastical grandeur should be done away with wholesale. Very well, Clark says, so be it, the church fathers would place more emphasis on the veneration of martyrs and saints. The heretics despise opulence? Very well, we shall build St Peter's basilica and adorn it unashamedly with masterpieces and golden baubles at every turn, we shall fashion an actual throne of Saint Peter. So too then I believe we should treat the wokeists. They loathe our flags? Very well, the Star-Spangled Banner and the Union Jack must be raised to yet higher importance. They want to destroy our statues? Very well, statues are to be protected and revered more than ever before. Mrs Harris wants to diminish and spit in the face of history, she wants to insult the war dead? Very well, the sacrifice of our past patriots is to be honoured above and beyond anything which has come before. They want to rewrite history so that it resembles the fever dream of a special needs maniac? Very well, we shall hold our historical narratives more dearly than ever, preserving and revering them with a passion. It is a hill worthy of dying upon.
